New Dawn

A new dawn signifies a new beginning, a fresh start, or a promising turning point after a period of difficulty. It represents a moment of hopeful transformation and renewal, often symbolised by the literal dawn or sunrise, and can be used in various contexts, from personal life changes to major political or societal shifts. It marks the end of an old era and the start of a new one, suggesting a clean slate. It implies a move from darkness to light, sorrow to joy, and is often used to express hope for the future – hope and positivity. A new dawn suggests a significant change or an important turning point that brings about new and often better experiences.

In the holy Quran, a new signifies a new beginning, a transformation from darkness to light, and the end of one era and the start of a new one. It represents a turning point of hope, new possibilities, often brought about by God’s intervention to deliver people from hardship and usher in a period of new grace, glory, and blessings.

Enter Dr. Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa, fourth term member of the House of Representatives, representing the Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency, and Chairman, House Committee on Housing and Habitat. As an effulgent legislator, Jibrin had served stellarly as the Chairman, House Committees on Finance, Appropriations, Transportation, and Foreign Affairs. Known for his avuncular advocacy for the downtrodden, he is popular for making meaningful and impactful contributions on the floor of the House; contributions with life-changing effect.

In his attempt to touch more lives, Jibrin has secured employment opportunities for jobless youths in his constituency, renovated Kofa hospital by connecting the hospital to strong solar energy, including the pharmacy (restocking), furnished the doctor’s offices, doctor’s staff quarters, principal’s house and his vice, hospital’s labour room with modern delivery beds.

To further better the lots of his constituents, Jibrin has sponsored over 15 bills, including the Bebeji Entrepreneurship University; empowered over 2000 youths in various craft tools; given out cash palliative to over 100,000 constituents; renovated many classrooms; installed over 1,400 solar streetlights; and renovated hundreds of boreholes; distributed hundreds of grinding machines, sewing machines, hair dryers and hair clippers.

He has shared over 2,300 bags of fertilizer and 1000 sprayers. He has built hundreds of solar powered boreholes; distributed hundreds of 50kg and 25kh bags of rice; renovated Kiru Tahfeezul Quran centre; repaired hundreds of motorised boreholes; empowered people with special needs; donated drugs to various hospitals across his constituency during the cholera outbreak; empowered widows and needy women with hundreds of millions of naira; given scholarship to students and orphaned children across his constituency; renovated Gargai mosque; renovated Kiru Jumuat mosque, Izala Jumuat mosque, and Kwanar Dangora; renovated blocks of classrooms at Kofa Central Primary School; supported pregnant women with delivery kits and monetary upkeep; empowered political leaders, traditional rulers, youths, Imams, clerics, security agents and social media influencers.

Today in Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency, it is the sunset of a new dawn through quality and all-encompassing representation by Jibrin Kofa. His cosmopolitan representation at the lower chamber has placed Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency on a national and global map, serving as a reference point in terms of exhaustive representation.

Jibrin has been able to pull this string of hunky-dory representation as a result of his enviable legislative experiences over the years. Aside from being a renaissance legislator, Jibrin is an erudite scholar whose panoptic erudition commands grasping awe. Going by his intimidating political and academic profiles, Jibrin’s administrative ingenuity and wizardry will in no distant future be needed to retool some bureaucratic incongruities in Kano State.
